Description
Suzani wall hanging
The creation of each of these works of art is divided into two main stages: first, the patterns are drawn on the fabric, and only then go directly to embroidery.
In the old days, drawing on light-colored fabric was done with ink made from soot, and special clay was used for dark fabrics. The drawing was applied with a reed pen or a special stick.
The oriental drawing style is varied and differs depending on the region of manufacture.
Known: Samarkand, Bukhara, Khujand, Shakhrisabs, Nurata, Pskent, as well as Tashkent suzane.
