Silk fibers were first launched in China. It was in the Middle Kingdom in the fifth millennium BC that a special technology for the manufacture of this wonderful material was discovered. For a long time, he kept a closely guarded secret.
There are a large number of types of natural silk. Their main differences in weaving technology, which give them unique characteristics and appearance.

Satin (Atlas) is a dense, shiny silk fabric. The satin (atlas) surface is usually smooth, but the material can also be patterned. The atlas is distinguished by its characteristic shine, the front part resembles the shine. This effect is achieved using special production technology.
The type of weave of this fabric, like raw silk, was invented in China. Along with the technique of producing material from silkworm cocoons, this knowledge first reached Central Asia, and then Europe, where the material was widely used.
Gas (gas illusion, gas rice, gas marabou, gas crystal)
This is a translucent silk fabric, which is achieved through a large space between its threads. The gas is very light and smooth. In the manufacture of various types of gas using patterned, smooth and diagonal fabrics.
The illusion – gas is the thinnest and almost transparent material that resembles a light network. It is made of the finest silk thread. Curtains, light scarves, elements of wedding decorations are made of it.

Tual is distinguished by its high density and delicate shine. This fabric maintains its shape perfectly and is used as a lining to sew dresses and ties.

Chesucha (hard silk)

Muslin
Muslin is produced from highly marked natural silk. The material is transparent and thin. It is used to sew theater costumes and dresses.
Serge
Serge (ital. Sargia, fr. Serge; from Lat. Sericus – “silk”) – twill production technology – diagonal yarn weaving. Each subsequent thread shifts the intersection by 2 or more threads. It will produce one color or printed twill. Applied as a lining, technical or dress fabric, to sew work clothes.
Excelsior
Plain weave silk fabric with a pronounced shine, slim and transparent. In production, non-twisted yarn is used. Excelsior covers well. The fabric is very beautiful. It is used by designers who work with batik, in addition to creating silk flowers and decorative elements.
Charmeuse
Charmeuse is very similar to an atlas. Both have a smooth front surface with a characteristic shine. The difference can be determined by feeling the material: charmeuse is thinner and softer than satin.
Silk Lawn
The silk batiste contains about 3% silk, which brightens things. For its manufacture, plain fabric is used. Batiste flows beautifully and forms elegant folds. Good for long dresses.
